Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – A tragic and shocking incident has been reported from the Upper Dublin area, just outside Philadelphia, where a woman killed her husband, attempted to shoot her son, and was later found dead, officials said.
According to a press release by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, the woman involved has been identified as 57-year-old Tonya Dupree.
What Happened?
The case began with a 911 emergency call at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, from a man who works at a FedEx warehouse in the area. He told the police that his mother came to his workplace, asked him to leave, and then pointed a gun at his head while they were in her car.
Thankfully, the man managed to wrestle the gun away from her, and she immediately fled the scene, according to authorities.
Police Found Her Husband Dead
About one hour later, officers went to Tonya Dupree’s home in King of Prussia, which is around 20 miles from downtown Philadelphia. There, they found her 62-year-old husband, Robert Dupree Sr., shot dead in his bed.
Just two hours after the first 911 call, at 11:30 a.m., police found Tonya Dupree dead as well. Authorities are treating the case as a murder-suicide and attempted murder.
Motive Still Unknown
Investigators have not yet shared a motive behind the violent events. The family’s background and what led to the tragic situation remain unclear.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to gather more details.
