It’s just the way we do it. And then, a simple “thank you” is exchanged, and we move on. That’s just common courtesy in Texas.
A big part of our manners is saying “yes ma’am” and “no sir”. Now, don’t get all upset thinking we’re calling you old. We’re not. It’s simply a sign of respect. It’s how we were raised, and it’s how we show that we honor others.
