Police Texas Man Strangled Wife, Dumped Body South of Border After Finding Her in Hotel Bed With Another Man

A Texas man has been arrested after allegedly strangling his wife to death in a fit of rage and dumping her body in Mexico. Jorge Mares Raygoza, 47, is facing charges following the discovery of his wife, Coral Llamas Sifuentes, 45, found dead on a highway in Juarez, Mexico.

The tragic incident unfolded after Raygoza uncovered his wife’s two-year affair and confronted her about it.

The Affair and Confrontation

Raygoza and Sifuentes had been living separately for some time—Raygoza in Hobbs, New Mexico, and Sifuentes in El Paso, Texas, with their children. Raygoza would visit his family on weekends while working in New Mexico during the week. On March 18, 2025, Raygoza reportedly discovered his wife in a hotel room with another man, confirming his suspicions of a two-year affair.

A few days later, on March 21, Raygoza confronted Sifuentes about the affair. During the confrontation, he confessed to strangling her in a violent outburst that lasted around 30 minutes.

The Aftermath of the Murder

After killing his wife, Raygoza allegedly took steps to cover up the crime. He dressed her body, placed it in the backseat of her car, and then proceeded to attend a job interview, as if nothing had happened.

Surveillance footage showed him crossing into Juarez, Mexico, through the Ysleta Port of Entry, driving his wife’s vehicle. He returned to the U.S. shortly afterward.

In an apparent attempt to destroy evidence, Raygoza reportedly destroyed his wife’s phone and smartwatch. Despite his efforts, authorities were able to trace his movements and uncover the truth.

Discovery of the Body

On March 22, 2025, Sifuentes’ body was found by Mexican authorities on a highway in Juarez. The Chihuahua Attorney General’s Office confirmed that she had died from asphyxiation due to strangulation. The discovery prompted the FBI to notify El Paso police, leading to a joint investigation between U.S. and Mexican authorities.

Arrest and Legal Proceedings

Raygoza was arrested on March 28, 2025, and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. His bond was set at $1.25 million. Authorities were able to confirm his involvement in the crime through both his confession and surveillance footage showing him crossing the border into Mexico with his wife’s body.
