President Trump Sparks Outrage After Calling Taylor Swift ‘No Longer Hot’ Amid Ongoing Feud

President Donald Trump stirred controversy once again Friday morning by criticizing pop superstar Taylor Swift on his Truth Social platform, claiming she is “no longer hot.” The post is the latest in a long-running feud between the two public figures and comes amid a busy international schedule for Trump.

“Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” Trump wrote.

The comment, which immediately drew backlash and media attention, came amid posts about his diplomatic visit to the Middle East and his frustration with the U.S. Supreme Court’s hearing on birthright citizenship.

A Long-Running Public Feud

Trump and Swift have clashed publicly since 2018, when the singer began using her platform to support Democratic candidates, breaking from her previously neutral stance.

Swift endorsed Phil Bredesen and Jim Cooper in the 2018 midterms in Tennessee, prompting Trump to question her political knowledge and say he liked her music “less.”

Their tension escalated again during the 2024 presidential election, when Swift endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris, while Trump insisted she would never support “Crooked Joe Biden.” Trump also claimed credit for helping the music industry more than Biden ever did.

AI, Misinformation, and Political Mockery

Adding to the friction, Trump or his team later shared AI-generated images falsely portraying Swift as a supporter of his campaign. Swift responded forcefully, warning about the dangers of AI and misinformation, and mocking political critics with the self-deprecating signoff, “Childless Cat Lady,” a reference to a derogatory comment by now-Vice President JD Vance.

Swift’s Career Reaches New Heights

Despite Trump’s repeated criticisms, Swift’s popularity has soared. Her Eras Tour became the first music tour in history to earn over $2 billion, and her net worth is now estimated at $1.6 billion, cementing her status as one of the most successful entertainers in the world.

Many critics have questioned the motivation behind Trump’s latest post, suggesting it’s a distraction tactic amid rising economic pressure and ongoing legal and political battles.

Political Reactions

Mike Nellis, a Democratic strategist and former adviser to Kamala Harris, called Trump’s post a deliberate distraction.

“Walmart and other retailers are hiking up prices because of the tariffs, and he’s panicked about it — so we’re going to see new levels of BS distractions, like him attacking Taylor Swift out of nowhere,” Nellis posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Meanwhile, pro-Trump commentators celebrated the post. Nick Sortor, a right-wing internet personality, wrote:

“LMAO! President Trump just TORCHED Taylor Swift. This is classic Trump.”

Ongoing Middle East Tour

Trump remains overseas, visiting countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, marking the first presidential visit to the region in over two decades. He is expected to return to the U.S. late Friday.
