Rain chances increasing for Mother’s Day Weekend

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Partly cloudy skies are expected across Texoma on Friday, May 9, 2024, with temperatures warming up into the upper 70s and low 80s. Winds will stay consistent throughout the day out of the northeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Mother’s Day Weekend will see rain chances returning to the region as moisture and instability will move into the area from the west.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop late on Saturday with storms becoming more widespread for Sunday and those Mother’s Day plans.

Storms could become severe at times on Sunday with large hail and gusty winds will be the greatest concerns. Rain chances will start to move out of the region late on Sunday and into the morning hours on Monday.

Next week, conditions dry out to start off the workweek with mostly clear skies for most of the day on Monday and Tuesday.

Wednesday next week features another round of showers and storms moving into the region while temperatures mostly heat back up into the 80s.
