Country music star Trisha Yearwood received a huge honour on Monday, March 24, as she was awarded her very own star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony turned emotional and joyful as many country legends came together to celebrate the moment.
Trisha’s husband, Garth Brooks, stood proudly by her side, showing once again how much he supports her. But one of the most touching parts of the event came from fellow country icon Reba McEntire, who shared a beautiful story about how her friendship with Yearwood began.
Garth Brooks: A Supportive Partner
As Trisha spoke on stage, she thanked Garth Brooks, calling him her biggest supporter throughout her journey. She made it clear how much his love and belief in her has helped her through every step of her career.
Garth and Trisha have always been known as one of the most loved couples in country music. Their deep bond was on full display during this special event, making fans emotional and proud.
Reba McEntire Shares Her Heartwarming Memory
Reba McEntire, a long-time friend of Trisha, also stepped up to the stage to share a sweet memory of how they first met. It was many years ago at an ACM Awards show. Reba said she felt an instant connection when she saw Trisha sitting with her mother at the party.
Reba recalled, “I sat there with you and your mom, and I thought, ‘I already love her.’” She explained how she related to Trisha because she, too, was very close to her own mother. Reba said it was Trisha’s “dry sense of humour” and loving nature that won her heart instantly.
Both Reba and Trisha have spoken openly over the years about the close relationships they had with their mothers. Sadly, both of them lost their moms over the past two decades. These relationships have inspired emotional songs like Reba’s 2023 release, “Seven Minutes in Heaven,” which showed a touching reunion with her late mother in the afterlife.
A Surprise That Started a Friendship
Trisha also shared a touching moment from that same awards show where she first met Reba. She recalled being a new artist, and to her surprise, she received flowers in her dressing room. At first, she thought they were from her parents—but later realised they were from Reba McEntire.
She told the crowd, “I thought they were from my mom and dad… and then I saw they were from Reba. I was like, ‘Oh, okay!’” That small, kind gesture helped start a friendship that has lasted for decades.
Now, the two stars are more than just colleagues in the same industry—they’re true friends who spend time together, support each other, and share a deep respect for one another.
