Show and Shine Car Show helps grow children healthcare for Children’s Miracle Network at United Regional

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — On Saturday, folks enjoyed classic cars and vendors, and all proceeds helped the Children’s Miracle Network.

Sam’s 12th Annual Show and Shine car show started at 9 a.m.

The money raised stays in the community to help the Children’s Miracle Network at United Regional, which is transforming the special care nursery from level two to level three.

It’s an advancement for the hospital and will save families the trouble of traveling to bigger cities.

The nursery serves nine counties, and children’s miracle specialist Melissa Walker says it’s important to continue improving healthcare for children in our community.

“Will help us take care of babies down to 26 weeks gestation. And it’ll also allow us to take care of kids that need advanced care in our area and keep us from having to go 2 hours one way,” Walker said.

“It’s the support from the community, right? Not only from the community but from our associates and sponsors as well. It just shows everybody can come together for a good event,” Sam’s Membership Manager Justin Ibarra said.

The car show in Sam’s parking lot ended at about 5:30 p.m., and a cruise on Jacksboro Highway began at around 6 p.m., which was the end of the day.
