Shreveport Police Arrest 19-Year-Old in Mansfield Road Shooting Incident

Shreveport, LA – A shooting on Tuesday afternoon near Mansfield Road and Kingston Road led to the arrest of a 19-year-old suspect, thanks to a quick response and investigation by the Shreveport Police Department (SPD).

What Happened?

Police were called to the scene after a car was reportedly hit by gunfire while driving in the area. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle with several people inside, one of whom had been grazed by a bullet. Fortunately, the injury was minor, and the Shreveport Fire Department treated the person at the scene.

Who Was Arrested?

After gathering information and launching an investigation, SPD identified Tramel Johnson, 19, as the suspected shooter. Police say Johnson was firing recklessly, and one of his bullets struck the vehicle carrying the victims.

Charges Filed Against Johnson

Johnson has been arrested and faces the following charges:

  • One count of Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
  • Two counts of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
