Get ready, Shreveport! Geek’d Con 2025 is coming back for its 10th anniversary—and it’s going to be a big one. That’s right, the city’s favorite comic con is turning 10 years old, and the celebration is happening August 22nd to 24th at the Shreveport Convention Center. Tickets are already on sale, and fans are buzzing about the celebrity guest list.
As part of the anniversary fun, Geek’d Con is bringing back some of the familiar faces who helped make the event what it is today. One of those special return guests is none other than Vanessa Angel!
Who Is Vanessa Angel?
If you’re a fan of 90s movies and TV, then you probably know Vanessa Angel. She’s best known for her role in the hilarious sports comedy Kingpin, where she starred alongside big names like Woody Harrelson, Bill Murray, and Randy Quaid.
Vanessa became widely recognized thanks to her appearance in much of the movie’s promotion—she was featured on posters, ads, and billboards all across the country.
She also played the lead character Lisa in the TV version of Weird Science, which aired on USA Network starting in 1994. That show ran for more than 85 episodes over four years and gained a solid fanbase. Her character was originally played by Kelly LeBrock in the 1985 movie version.

Vanessa Angel has done a lot more than just Kingpin and Weird Science. Her acting career includes a long list of movies and shows, such as:

In addition to Vanessa Angel, this year’s Geek’d Con features a 35th Anniversary “Shell-a-Bration” for the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
Confirmed guests from the TMNT universe include:
