SNAP Benefits Are Still Being Sent in Eight States in April Up to $1756 for Qualifying Families

Millions of Americans have already received their April 2025 SNAP benefits, also known as food stamps. However, many people are still waiting because several states are still in the process of sending out payments.

The SNAP program is a federal government initiative aimed at reducing hunger across the United States. These benefits are distributed every month, but the schedule depends on the state where the person lives.

What Is SNAP and How Does It Work?

SNAP stands for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. It helps low-income individuals and families buy food. The program is managed by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), which is part of the US Department of Agriculture.

The benefits are provided through an EBT card, which works like a debit card. You can use this card to buy food at stores that are approved by the government.
