SNAP Benefits: Two States Continue to Provide Up to $1,756 This Month

SNAP Benefits Two States Continue to Provide Up to $1,756 This Month

If you live in Texas or Florida and receive SNAP benefits (food stamps), you might be wondering when your March 2025 payment will arrive. These two states are unique because they spread out SNAP payments from the 1st to the 28th of every month due to their large number of recipients.

Since today is March 24, many people in these states are still waiting for their benefits. Let’s break down exactly who will receive their money between March 24 and March 28 and how you can find your payment date.

Why Are Payments Still Going Out in Texas and Florida?

Texas and Florida have the largest SNAP populations in the U.S., so they don’t send all payments at once. Instead, they pay in groups based on your case number (EDG) and when you were certified for SNAP.

Other states finish SNAP distributions much earlier in the month, but not these two. So, don’t worry — if you haven’t received your March payment yet, it might be on the way this week.

SNAP Payment Dates in Texas (March 24–28, 2025)

Texas splits SNAP recipients into two groups:

Group 1: Certified before June 1, 2020

Payments are made March 1 to 15, based on the last digit of your EDG number. If your EDG ends in 0, you got paid on the 1st; if it ends in 9, you got paid on the 15th. This group is already done receiving payments for March.

Group 2: Certified on or after June 1, 2020

Payments go out from March 16 to March 28, based on the last two digits of the EDG number.

Here’s the payment schedule for March 24–28:

  • EDG ending in 82-85: March 24
  • EDG ending in 86-88: March 25
  • EDG ending in 89-92: March 26
  • EDG ending in 93-95: March 27
  • EDG ending in 96-99: March 28

Don’t know your EDG number? Look at the documents from when your SNAP application was approved, or log into your account on Texas’s YourTexasBenefits website.

SNAP Payment Dates in Florida (March 24–28, 2025)

Florida also spreads payments out from the 1st to the 28th of each month, but with a more unusual system.

To determine your date:

  • The state uses the last two digits of your case number, read backward
  • It ignores the 10th digit entirely

Here’s who gets paid during the final week of March:

  • Case numbers ending in 82-85: March 24
  • Case numbers ending in 86-88: March 25
  • Case numbers ending in 89-92: March 26
  • Case numbers ending in 93-95: March 27
  • Case numbers ending in 96-99: March 28

If your payment hasn’t arrived yet, and your number falls in these ranges, your funds should arrive soon.
