SSDI and VA Disability Benefits Will Be Available Soon Here Are the New Sending Dates for April Schedule

April 2025 is an important month for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and VA Disability beneficiaries in the United States. Both groups will receive their monthly benefits from the U.S. Government, but each follows a different payment schedule.

If you receive either of these benefits, it’s important to check your specific payment group to know exactly when the money will arrive in your bank account.

SSDI Payment Schedule for April 2025

SSDI benefits are paid once a month, but the payment date depends on when you started receiving benefits and your birthdate.

Here is the full April 2025 SSDI payment calendar:

Payment Date Who Will Receive It
April 3 Group 1: If you started receiving SSDI before May 1997
April 9 Group 2: Started after May 1997 + birthday between 1st–10th of any month
April 16 Group 3: Started after May 1997 + birthday between 11th–20th
April 23 Group 4: Started after May 1997 + birthday between 21st–31st

So, if you’re not sure when your SSDI will arrive, simply check:

  • Your start date for SSDI benefits
  • Your date of birth

These two details will help you identify your group and mark your calendar accordingly.

VA Disability Payments in April and May 2025

VA Disability payments work a bit differently from SSDI. They are usually sent out on the first day of each month, but with some exceptions.

Important VA Payment Dates:

  • April 1, 2025 – This was the payment for March 2025
  • May 1, 2025 – Payment for April 2025
  • May 30, 2025 – This will be the early payment for June, since June 1 falls on a weekend

If the 1st of the month is a weekend or a federal holiday, the VA payment is sent on the last working day before that date.
