A man from Killeen, Texas is now facing serious legal trouble after being accused of targeting senior citizens in a string of fraud cases. Authorities say Bryan Brundidge tricked elderly individuals into giving him money through online scams, fake emails, and pressure tactics.
At the time of writing, investigators believe Brundidge may have stolen nearly $200,000 from his victims — most of them between the ages of 65 and 91.
What Did Bryan Brundidge Do?
According to a report from KXII, Brundidge is believed to be involved in at least seven cases of fraud. He reportedly contacted senior citizens using fake emails, pretending to be from well-known companies like PayPal. His goal was to create confusion and panic by telling the victims that there had been a refund error.
Then, he pressured them to go to the bank, withdraw cash, and hand it over in person — something no real company would ever ask. He also used WhatsApp and other encrypted messaging apps to hide his activities and communicate with his victims.
Are There More Victims?
While law enforcement has confirmed his involvement in seven known cases, they believe there may be more victims who have not come forward yet. The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to contact their Criminal Investigations Division.
