The City of Wichita Falls Offers to Help Pay for Some Storm Damage

After recent powerful storms brought strong winds and heavy hail across the area, many homes in Wichita Falls have been left damaged. To support residents during this time, the City of Wichita Falls is offering help through its Minor and Emergency Repair Program.

This program is being managed by the city’s Neighborhood Resources Division, and it’s designed to help with important home repairs—not cosmetic damage, but things that affect safety and basic living needs.

What the Program Covers

The repair program won’t help with things like painting or fixing cracks in walls, but it can cover critical repairs, such as:

  • Roof replacements or repairs
  • Plumbing issues
  • Electrical repairs
  • HVAC (heating and air conditioning) system problems

These are the types of repairs that help make homes safe, secure, and livable—especially important after storm damage.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for this assistance, homeowners must meet a few requirements. According to the city’s official release, here are the eligibility rules:

  • You must live within Wichita Falls city limits
  • You must own and live in the home
  • The property must be outside the 100-year floodplain
  • The home cannot be a historic landmark
  • Your property taxes and utility bills must be up to date, or you must have a payment plan
  • You must not have received help from this program in the past 12 months

If you meet all these conditions, you may be eligible for financial help to fix storm-related damage.
