This Teenage Concert Video Is Making Zach Top Fans Go Crazy [Watch]

Move over, Brad Paisley! There’s a new traditional guitar picker in Nashville named Zach Top.

Many fans adore Top for his throwback country sound, Wrangler jeans, and signature mustache, but he recently went viral for a completely different reason: his guitar skills.

Few people knew Zach Top could shred in the most bluegrass way. Check out the video below.

The throwback video shows a much younger Top flat-picking the guitar as if his life depended on it. It is unclear who is playing with him in the band, but Top has previously mentioned being in a bluegrass band with his family early in his career.

“One of our new country legends?!?” “I haven’t heard a voice and a guitar player like that in a while!!!😀👍” commented one user.

“Plays guitar like magic, sings like an angel, and is gorgeous to boot!” another fan wrote.

“Sounds like Skaggs; plays better than Hendrix!?! “Amazing son!!!” exclaimed another fan.

In a recent interview with Country Central, Top discussed how artists such as Keith Whitley and George Strait influenced his deep love of country music.

He also discussed why he picked up the guitar, and he gave full credit to Marty Robbins. Growing up in Washington State, he was surrounded by bluegrass music, which shaped the distinct roots he has incorporated into his country sound to create his signature classic mix.

Top’s guitar skills are uncommon these days, with most artists strumming along to simple chords or relying on pre-recorded tracks to perform.

Top recently delivered a buzzworthy performance at the 2025 CRS New Faces of Country Music show, performing “Sounds Like the Radio,” “Bad Luck,” “Use Me,” “I Never Lie,” and “Cold Beer & Country Music.”
