Three Suspects Arrested After Armed Robbery at Lubbock McDonald's

Lubbock, TX – Three individuals are facing serious charges after attempting an armed robbery at a McDonald’s on Wednesday in Lubbock, Texas. What started over a simple McNugget and ranch dressing has now led to multiple arrests and felony charges.

The Robbery Incident

According to KAMC, Alejandro Montoya (23), Elijha Elizondo (21), and another suspect were arrested after a robbery in progress at the McDonald’s located at 2433 S. Loop 289. Officers arrived at the scene to see a vehicle attempting to flee westbound from the drive-thru. Police were able to stop the vehicle and take the suspects into custody.

What Happened at McDonald’s?

Employees at the McDonald’s told police that the suspects were in the drive-thru when Montoya allegedly flashed a weapon at an employee and demanded drinks. Montoya then reached into the window, grabbed McNuggets and ranch dressing, before fleeing the scene with his companions.

Stolen Items and Further Charges

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers discovered the stolen McNuggets and ranch dressing in the front and back of the car. Additionally, a stolen rifle was found in the vehicle. Police also revealed that Montoya had two outstanding warrants. Elizondo was found in possession of a “brown leafy substance”, which he claimed were mushrooms.

Arrests and Jail Time

The three suspects were taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center, where they are facing serious charges related to the armed robbery. The incident serves as a stark reminder that crime—even for something as trivial as fast food—can have serious consequences.
