Washington, D.C. – President Donald Trump reacted to Iran’s missile attack on a U.S. base in Qatar, calling it a “very weak response” following the U.S. bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites. In a post on Truth Social, Trump thanked Iran for providing “early notice” of the retaliatory strike, which allowed U.S. forces to be prepared.
Trump shared that 14 missiles were fired at the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, but that 13 of them were intercepted by Qatari air defenses. He added that one missile “was set free” because it was heading in a nonthreatening direction. According to Trump, there were no American casualties, and “hardly any damage was done” by the attack.
“I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done,” Trump wrote. “Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their ‘system,’ and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE. I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured.”
Trump Encourages Peace After the Attack
In his post, Trump suggested that Iran could now “proceed to Peace and Harmony” following the attack. He also encouraged Israel to consider pursuing the same peaceful path.
Trump’s comments came after the U.S. launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, heightening tensions in the region. Despite the retaliation, Trump seemed to emphasize the importance of diplomacy and peace moving forward.
