During his official visit to the Middle East, President Donald Trump was given a warm and grand welcome by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). One of the most eye-catching tributes was the lighting of the Burj Khalifa—the tallest building in the world—with the American flag.
UAE’s Grand Salute to President Trump
As part of his visit to the UAE, President Trump was honoured with a stunning light display on the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The skyscraper lit up in red, white, and blue, showcasing the American flag across its massive height.
This beautiful moment was shared on Instagram by the White House, describing it as a gesture of friendship and respect from the UAE.
The UAE government also posted a video of the tribute, calling it a salute to “America and President Trump.”
Burj Khalifa: A Symbol of Modern UAE
The Burj Khalifa, located in Dubai, stands at an incredible 2,716 feet, making it the tallest structure ever built. To put that in perspective, it is nearly 1,000 feet taller than New York City’s Freedom Tower. Lighting up such a structure to honour a visiting leader is a powerful diplomatic gesture.
Trump’s UAE Visit Focuses on AI Technology
During his stay, President Trump also visited the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
One major goal of the visit was to sign a partnership agreement for building a large data centre in the UAE. This centre is designed to support the fast-growing field of artificial intelligence (AI), helping both countries lead in the tech world.
Earlier Visit to Qatar Includes Military Deal
Before arriving in the UAE, President Trump visited Qatar, where he toured the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East. While there, he announced a $42 billion deal in which Qatar will buy high-quality military equipment from the United States.
There was also a buzz of controversy during this visit. Reports suggested that Qatar might offer President Trump a $400 million private jet as a gift, which sparked criticism and debate.
A Strong Message of Partnership
By lighting up the Burj Khalifa with the U.S. flag, the UAE sent a clear and friendly message to America. It shows how both nations are working together—not just in defence and politics, but also in technology and innovation.
