WFISD Invites Community Input on Hirschi Plan Before Board Meeting

The Wichita Falls Independent School District (WFISD) Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing and regular board meeting on Monday, April 14, 2025, to discuss key topics, including the future of Hirschi Middle School.

Community members are invited to share their input during the public hearing, which will focus on the school’s Turnaround Plan (TAP) — a strategy aimed at improving performance and outcomes for students at the campus.

Public Hearing Scheduled for April 14

The TAP public hearing will begin at 5:30 PM in the Board Room of the WFISD Education Center, located at 1104 Broad St., Wichita Falls.

The hearing gives parents, staff, and residents the chance to ask questions, offer suggestions, and learn more about the steps being proposed to support improvement efforts at Hirschi Middle School.

Regular Board Meeting Follows the Hearing

Just 30 minutes later at 6:00 PM, the WFISD Board will begin its regular session, continuing in the same board room. The evening agenda includes discussions and decisions on a variety of important items for the district.

Among the topics to be covered:

  • Purchases for district needs, such as playgrounds, computer systems, and curriculums
  • Options for surplus district properties, and how they might be used more effectively
  • Further discussion of the Hirschi Middle School Turnaround Plan, following the public hearing

Why the Turnaround Plan Matters

Turnaround Plans are required for schools that fall below state performance standards. These plans are meant to boost student success, increase resources, and help schools meet academic goals. The TAP for Hirschi Middle School is being created as part of efforts to address challenges and provide better opportunities for students.

WFISD wants community involvement in the process, and this hearing is one way for stakeholders to make their voices heard.
