If you’re waiting for your Social Security money in June 2025, it’s smart to plan ahead. Knowing when your payment is coming can help you manage your monthly budget better. Whether you’re already retired or receiving disability or SSI benefits, here’s a simple guide to understand exactly when your money will arrive.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has set clear dates for June 2025. No need to worry about complex terms or official lingo – we’ve explained everything in a way that’s easy to follow.
Social Security Payment Schedule Based on Birthdays
The SSA uses your birth date to decide your payment day. Here’s how it works:
If your birthday falls between:
- 1st to 10th – You’ll get your money on Wednesday, June 11, 2025
- 11th to 20th – Your payment will arrive on Wednesday, June 18, 2025
- 21st to 31st – Expect your money on Wednesday, June 25, 2025
All these days are Wednesdays, and there are no delays due to holidays or weekends this time.
Early Payments for Certain Groups
Some people will receive their payments earlier. If you fall into either of these groups, take note:
- You started receiving Social Security before May 1997, or
- You receive both Social Security and SSI – You’ll get your money on Tuesday, June 3, 2025
Since June 3 is a weekday, there are no changes or delays to worry about.
What About SSI Payments in June?
People who get Supplemental Security Income (SSI) won’t get a payment in June itself. That’s because June 1, 2025, falls on a Saturday, and SSA doesn’t send payments on weekends. So, they’ll send it a bit earlier – on Friday, May 30, 2025.
Make sure to check your account on that date if you receive SSI.

How Much Can You Get in 2025?
Wondering how much you could receive? It all depends on how much you earned while working and when you choose to start getting benefits.
Here are the maximum monthly amounts:
- At age 62: Up to $2,831
- At age 67 (full retirement age): Up to $4,018
- At age 70: Up to $5,108
But remember – only people who worked for 35 years earning the maximum taxable income and waited until 70 can get the full $5,108. Most people receive much less. In 2025, the average monthly Social Security payment is around $1,979.
Also, if you wait beyond age 67, your benefits increase by 8% each year until you reach age 70.
What If Your Payment Doesn’t Arrive?
If you don’t see your payment on the expected date, don’t panic. The SSA suggests waiting three business days before calling them.
Most people now get their payments through direct deposit, which is faster and safer. If you still receive paper checks, mail delays might be the reason.
