If you receive benefits from the Social Security Administration (SSA)—whether it’s for retirement, disability, or Supplemental Security Income (SSI)—you might be wondering when your next payment will arrive. The June 2025 payment schedule has been released, and this guide breaks it down by payment type, birth date, and benefit level.
Social Security and SSDI Payments: Dates Based on Birthdays
If you’re receiving Social Security retirement benefits or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), your payment will arrive in June depending on your date of birth. This schedule applies to most beneficiaries except those who began receiving benefits before May 1997.
Here’s the June 2025 payment schedule:
If your birthday falls between:
- 1st–10th → Wednesday, June 11, 2025
- 11th–20th → Wednesday, June 18, 2025
- 21st–31st → Wednesday, June 25, 2025
If you began receiving benefits before May 1997, you’ll receive your payment on Tuesday, June 3.
How Much Will You Receive? Retirement Benefits in 2025
The amount of retirement benefits you receive depends on the age you choose to retire:
- At age 62: You can receive up to $2,831 per month, but this is a reduced amount due to early retirement.
- At full retirement age (67): You can receive up to $4,018 per month.
- At age 70: You can receive up to $5,108 per month—the maximum monthly benefit.
To qualify for these maximum payments, you must have worked for at least 35 years and earned at or above the taxable income limit, which is $176,100 in 2025.
SSDI Benefits: What Disabled Workers Can Expect
If you’re receiving SSDI benefits, your payment depends on your past earnings before you became disabled. In 2025:
- The maximum SSDI payment is $4,018 per month.
- The average SSDI benefit is $1,751 per month.
Only individuals with consistent, high earnings over 35 years will qualify for the highest amount.
SSI Payments: June Date and Maximum Amounts
SSI is a separate benefit program meant to help low-income seniors, disabled adults, and children. Unlike retirement and SSDI payments, SSI is paid on the first business day of the month.
Since June 1, 2025 falls on a Sunday, SSI payments will be made on Friday, May 30 instead.
The maximum monthly SSI payments in 2025 are:
- $967 for individuals
- $1,450 for eligible couples
Some states also offer extra monthly supplements, but actual SSI payments may be lower depending on your other income and financial resources.
