Nightclubs in Wichita Falls are often short-lived. So we asked our Facebook friends which previous nightclubs they miss the most, and these were the top responses.
I’m not sure what it is with nightclubs, but they appear to open and close faster than any other business. It’s not limited to Wichita Falls, either. The same could be said for all clubs.
Ray Ford, co-owner of a management services company, tells OK College Start that the average lifespan of a nightclub or bar is two years. In fact, staying in business for one year is considered successful. It’s a fiercely competitive company.
I will agree that bars in Wichita Falls appear to have far more staying power. The same can be said for pool halls, but not for nightclubs. Some have lasted longer than a few years, although they are the rarity.
When I was in high school in the late 1980s and early 1990s, everyone seemed to go to the same hot club. However, as soon as a cool new club opened, everyone started attending there, resulting in the closure of the previous club.
