The murder took place in January 2024, and now both suspects are facing first-degree murder charges.
What Happened?
The incident occurred on January 13, 2024, when the woman’s boyfriend called 911 and reported a home invasion at her apartment. He told authorities that someone had followed him inside the home, shot the woman as she tried to reach for her phone, and then fled after stealing some items.
However, police quickly became suspicious. According to the medical examiner’s report, the woman had already been dead for around two hours before the 911 call was made. The blood was dried, and signs of early decomposition were found, raising questions about the man’s story.
What Did the Investigation Reveal?
The investigation was carried out by the Florida Sheriff’s Office, and several inconsistencies were uncovered:
- The timing of the death did not match the man’s account.
- Text messages showed that the boyfriend was not supposed to be at the apartment at that time.
