Wichita Falls may develop a new grocery store within weeks

WICHITA FALLS, Texas — After a delayed opening, the much-awaited La Mexicana Meat Market is set to open within the next three weeks, according to Misael Santoyo, the company’s regional supervisor.

The market, located at 3906 Jacksboro Highway, will likely have a soft opening followed by a grand opening on a date that will be announced soon.

Delay and Store Details

The opening of the store was delayed due to issues with the delivery of materials, but shelving of products is expected to begin in the coming days. Originally, the market was set to open in April 2025, but Santoyo confirmed the new timeline for the opening.

The market will feature a full-service meat market, where customers can have meats cut to their liking, as well as a produce section, groceries, and a small bakery. Additionally, the store will have a hot food deli and a taqueria to cater to customers looking for fresh and ready-to-eat food options.

A Local Venture

Santoyo mentioned that La Mexicana Meat Market is not part of a chain, although his brother, Angel Santoyo, owns other stores. The Wichita Falls store was opened after recognizing an opportunity in the local market.

“We saw an opportunity here in Wichita Falls, and we’re really glad we found some space there,” said Misael Santoyo.

The new market is expected to offer a variety of fresh products and local flavors to the Wichita Falls community. As the soft opening approaches, locals can look forward to enjoying high-quality meats, fresh produce, and delicious hot food options.
