WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A new nonprofit children’s theatre in Wichita Falls is celebrating its second production this month. The Little Lantern Theatre first opened in October 2025 at the Curious Minds School, located at 4725 K Mart Dr, with a mission to give young people opportunities in the performing arts.
The theatre offers musical revues, full plays, and other creative activities for children ages 6 to 18.
“The Grunch” — A Fun, Unconventional Show
The theatre’s latest production is inspired by the beloved Christmas classic but with a twist — it “has nothing to do with Christmas.” Titled “The Grunch,” the story follows the students of the drama club at Whoover Academy.
After their drama teacher moves to Hawaii, the club decides to write and produce its own musical. But one classmate, Rudy Grunch, who doesn’t like theatre, secretly plots to sabotage the production from the inside. The result is a fun and imaginative show full of creativity and chaos.
